RACE OVERVIEW

MISSION
The Strong Vietnam Vung Tau Marathon 2024, organized by Sen Vang Company in collaboration with the Vietnam Athletics Federation, Ho Chi Minh City Athletics Federation, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People's Committee, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Department of Culture and Sports, and Vung Tau City People's Committee, aims to encourage sports spirit and improve people's health.
This is an annual, prestigious, professional, and new sporting event with an international scale. The race attracts both domestic and foreign tourists to participate, contributing to promoting economic, cultural, and social development in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

GOAL
1. Attract high-performing athletes from athletics federations in countries around the world to compete every year.
2. The race will be an international event featuring the participation of numerous professional athletes from various continents, as well as the top 100 athletes in the world.
3. Become a prestigious and professional international marathon race that is well-known throughout Asia and can’t be missed by athletes from all over the world
4. Develop and organize races in some Asian countries for the next marathon season, with a large number of runners participating.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

PURPOSE – MEANING:

    1. Purpose

     

    Strong Vietnam Vung Tau  Marathon 2024 is a cultural, sports and tourism event, with the mission of promoting sea tourism and natural beauty of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province.

    Propagate and promote the campaign “The people train their bodies as great Uncle Ho“, and at the same time promote the movement of training and competing sports in general and running of Ba Ria – Vung Tau people in particular and the people of the whole country in general, thereby contributing to improving health, improving the quality of life, building a healthy lifestyle and culture.

     

    The Strong Vietnam Vung Tau  Marathon 2024 aims to enhance local tourism products for the sports-loving community. Furthermore, the race provides runners with unique experiences to promote famous tourist destinations along the way

CONTENTS

  1. Men’s and women’s individual competitions by distance: 42.195km, 21km, 10km, 5km.
  2. Completion time for each distance:
  • Distance 42.195 km: 06 hours, from the time of starting the distance.
  • Distance 21 km: 03 hours 30 minutes, from the time of starting the distance.
  • Distance 10 km: 02 hours 30 minutes, from the time of starting the distance.
  • Distance 5 km: 01 hour 30 minutes, from the time of starting the distance.

PARTICIPANTS

All Vietnamese citizens and foreigners who love to run and are in good health are eligible to register for the competition.

  1. Age of participation in each distance:

Distance 42.195 km: Participating athletes must be at least 18 years old at the time of competition.

Distance 21 km: Participating athletes must be at least 16 years old at the time of competition.

10 km distance: Participating athletes must be at least 12 years old at the time of competition.

Distance 05 km: Participating athletes must be at least 08 years old by the time of competition.

  1. Eligibility:
  • Participating athletes under the age of 18 at the time of competition must be confirmed by a representative (a guardian or parent). Before running, the representative must sign the disclaimer. The Organizing Committee has the right to deny the right to compete to athletes who have not completed a confirmation form signed by their representative.Runners under 16 years old who are participating must use the representative’s ID, or passport to carry out all necessary procedures with the organizers, such as registration procedures (assignment), check-in procedures (check-in), procedures for receiving a race kit (race kit), and a wear number (BIB).Change in representative for participating athletes under 16 years old necessitates repeating all necessary procedures with the organizing committee from the outset.Athletes under 18 years old who want to participate but do not have or lose their identification documents (identity card or passport) will need a legal representative to carry out the procedures for participating with the organizing committee.Participants may be denied by the Organizer (and may not be entitled to a refund) if they deliberately violate the terms of commitment to the previous Organizer or to other Organizing Committees.Each participant must sign an online disclaimer at the time of receiving the race kit before participating, which is a mandatory part of the competition.Tickets and accompanying items are non-refundable under any circumstances.The BIB number is unique to each participating athlete and cannot be changed.The arbitrary sale and/or transfer of tickets/BIB is strictly prohibited, the result will be discarded when the runner is found to carry the wrong name, wrong BIB, wrong registered information.3. Cancel, Transfer and Change:
  • Upon completion of registration, runners will not be refunded the registration fee if they cannot attend the Strong Vietnam Vung Tau International Marathon 2024 for any reason.
  • Participants may change the competition format and/or transfer their registration to another person. Participants should contact and submit their request to the ticket sales channels where they previously purchased tickets for resolution, along with the corresponding change fee:

The change fee will be based on the difference in price between the distances at the time of the change for upgrading the distance. No refund will be given for downgrading to a distance.

VII. COMPETITION RULES: Apply the Athletics Law promulgated by the General Department of Athletics (now the Department of Athletics) and other regulations of the Organizing Committee.

VIII. Reward :

  1. Reward: The Organizing Committee will award male and female athletes competing in the following distances:

– Distance 42,195 km: Awarded from the first to the 5th place for both men and women in 2 age groups: under 40 years old and over 40 years old

– 21km distance: Awarded from the first to the 3rd place for both men and women in 2 age groups: under 40 years old and over 40 years old

– 10km, 5km Distance: Awarded from the first to the 3rd place for both men and women

– In addition, the organizers also award sub-prizes to encourage athletes to register to participate such as: awarding from 1-3 to the athlete with the most impressive cosplay, awarding from 1-3 to the pair of athletes with the highest performance, awarding from 1-3 to the group with the highest collective performance,  award from 1-3 to the best friends with the highest achievement, award from 1-3 to the group of businesses with the highest total achievement, award to the family with achievements such as: the family with the most generations participating, the family with the highest total achievement, the most impressive family,  and the “100 Steps Continuation” award for the 50 male and 50 female athletes with the highest performance in 4 running distances.

*Note:

  1. According to the International Marathon Association and the Vietnam Athletics Federation, athletes are subject to banning stimulant laws. Any violation of the Drug Prohibition Act during the tournament will result in the cancellation of the athlete’s results, including points, cash prizes, or in-kind prizes.
  2. All results and prizes will be officially reviewed and announced before the cash prize is awarded.
  3. The Organizer reserves the right to change the result when detecting cheating in the competition.
  4. Athletes can claim the prize after submitting all the prize information and completing the application form along with a copy of their identification document (passport/ or /ID card). Should the athlete fail to complete the application process, the organizer retains the right to reject the incomplete form, necessitating a reapplication for the prize.
  5. All prizes, if not received within 30 (thirty) days from the end of the race or from the time the winner submits an application to confirm the successful prize information, will not be accepted, and the organizer reserves the right to handle them.
  6. Prizes must be received according to the regulations of the Organizing Committee. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable for cash. Athletes receive prizes in accordance with the rules and regulations as well as the terms and conditions of the Organizing Committee.
  7. For individual prizes, please see updates on the official website/fanpage of the race.
  8. Discipline: Depending on the severity of their violation, the Organizing Committee will take appropriate disciplinary action against athletes who break its laws, rules, and other regulations.
  9. Complaints

– For prize dispute events between winners, complaints must be made on the spot by sending an email to the Organizer or in writing within 30 minutes after the Organizer announces the prize.

– Athletes can make complaints about competition performance by sending documents via email to the organizing committee, and the deadline for handling complaints is three days after the official notification of results.

RACE-KIT

  1. All runners must receive a Race Kit that includes a BIB (identification number), a timer, and other equipment to support the run. Information about time, place, and items is posted on the official website of the program. If the athlete is unable to pick up the competition items in person, another person may be authorized to pick them up according to the instructions on the program’s website.
  2. Participants must provide a photo ID and confirmation email (which can be in electronic format (telephone), or hard copy) upon arrival to pick up the race-kit to authenticate the registrant and corresponding BIB number.
  3. Runners are responsible for ensuring that the timing device attached to the BIB number is worn correctly throughout the race.
  4. Runners will not receive the race kit after the allotted time. The organizer assumes no responsibility for athletes who arrive to pick up the race kit after the allotted time, nor for any loss, damage, or misplacement they may cause. To ensure fairness, the organizer will not extend the race kit distribution time or ensure that all athletes receive the race kit. The organizer will handle items not received during the above time at its sole discretion.

PRINCIPLES OF PARTICIPATION IN THE RACE

  1. Competition date
  2. Participants must follow the instructions of the Organizing Committee including track staff, volunteers, medical staff, and security staff during the event.
  3. Throughout the event, all Runners should behave professionally, civilly, and politely. Any individual who breaches this code of conduct will face immediate disqualification from the event and removal from the track.
  4. Athletes must attach a competition identification number (BIB) to the front of the apparel. Runners who do not carry BIB will not be allowed on the track.
  5. Pets, bicycles, skateboards, strollers, shoes with rollers, or other items with wheels are not allowed to be used or carried on the track except in vehicles or ambulances of the Organizer.
  6. The Organizer (Sen Vang Trading Advertising Joint Stock Company) reserves the right to use photos, videos, or other forms of recording (including recording images of runners at the event) for promotional items of the Strong Vietnam Marathon 2024 (including in subsequent years). Participating athletes have agreed to confirm this provision in the program registration section.
  7. The Organizer reserves the right to restrict or deny entry to this event to anyone.
  8. In force majeure conditions (epidemics, natural disasters, fires, politics, etc.), the Organizing Committee reserves the right to cancel any competition distance and notify athletes in advance.
  9. The Organizer shall not be liable for any disputes resulting from Runners’ failure to complete the registration information correctly.
  10. Starting point
  11. All runners are responsible for learning and remembering the start time of each distance of the race and their start time. All runners must be present at the specified time to be guided by the Organizing Committee with necessary information and participate in the race.
  12. Before the tournament begins, runners must determine their running points. We will ask any runners who attempt to enter a running point that is not theirs to start after all other runners have crossed the starting line.
  13. All runners must enter their starting point at the designated entry point. Anyone who climbs over the fence or enters improperly will be disqualified from the event.
  14. All runners must stand behind the starting line before starting any respective distance.
  15. Track monitoring
  16. The tournament management reserves the right to disqualify any participants from future events and other events if they do not follow the instructions of event staff or track referees, behave unsportsmanlikely, or use offensive actions or words towards event staff, volunteers, Runners, or spectators.
  17. Any participants found by the track referee, event staff or monitoring device to have cheated by intentionally shortening the track (“taking a shortcut”) will be disqualified from the event.
  18. Any assistance from outside the organization will disqualify participants from the event. “Assistance” refers to providing information or assistance directly or indirectly to the athlete in any ways, including communication equipment. This also encompasses pacers who are either hired or not officially participating in the race, in addition to those provided by the organizers.
  19. Participants without an official BIB number for the event or who use a BIB or timer that does not belong to them will be disqualified from the race or even from other events in the future.
  20. BIB is the property of the organizer. The organizer reserves the right to revoke the athlete’s BIB if they have not completed the race by the cut-off time but still want to continue running or violate the tournament’s rules.
  21. Receiving medical assistance from the event’s medical staff during the race is not considered a violation of competition rules, and the results will remain valid if Runners are able to complete the race.

SAFE FOR ATHLETES

  1. Participants are responsible for educating themselves about directions and symbols related to maps, locations, and directions.
  2. The use of wheeled vehicles (athletes with disabilities participating with the permission of the Organizing Committee), baby strollers, skateboards, skates, bicycles, or any wheeled vehicles is not allowed.
  3. Medical staff appointed by the Organizing Committee can check on any athlete who shows signs of health problems. In the event that medical staff decides that the runner should not continue the race, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to remove the athlete from the event area.
  4. Participants must stop competition if requested by event staff, medical personnel or law enforcement (including firefighters and police).
  5. Participants are responsible and obligated to pay for any and all medical fees incurred as a result of training and/or participation in the event, including ambulance transportation, hospital stays, doctors, pharmaceuticals, and services.
  6. The event organizers reserve the right to postpone, cancel or reschedule the tournament in case of force majeure such as natural disasters or at the request of the Government.
  7. When runners have problems on the track, they must contact the emergency numbers on the BIB and go to the nearest water filling point for assistance if they want to stop the race.

COMPETITION RESULTS

  1. All runners participating in the distance of 5km and above will be issued a time measuring device (chip) before the event, which is attached to the BIB.
  2. The result of runners who start 05 minutes behind the starting time will not be recorded.
  3. Runners must wear a BIB with a chip issued by the Organizing Committee, from the start line to the finish line to get accurate results. This device is attached to the BIB.
  4. An athlete will not be recognized as a finisher if the athlete’s completion time exceeds the cut-off time.

UNRECOGNIZED RESULTS

  1. Athletes found to be wearing more than 01  timers during the competition, running off the road, or wearing an unofficial BIB number will be disqualified, and competition results will not be recorded.
  2. Runners with unusual time record at the Organizing Committee’s checkpoints will be monitored and may be disqualified.
  3. All achievement results will be carefully reviewed before official announcement. Athletes can check unofficial results according to the instructions of the Organizing Committee.
  4. After 30 minutes of official result announcement, all complaints will not be processed.
  5. The results will not be recorded if the athlete violates any of the Conditions of Participation and the Rules of Participation in the Race.

REGULATIONS FOR ATHLETES

  1. The running jersey sizes cannot be changed. Participants should carefully check the shirt size table included in the registration form before choosing their size.
  2. All runners who complete their selected distance will be awarded a completion medal after providing information about the BIB number to the competition supervisor at the athlete area (located near the finish line).
  3. Runners in 42.195 km and 21 km distance will be given a Finisher Jersey only after completing their run.

Medals and Finisher Jersey will be awarded at the event. Any issues that arise after that will not be resolved.

REGISTER FOR LOCKER

  1. The organizer will not be responsible for loss or damage to personal items in the storage area. The organizer reserves the right to inspect bags and personal items stored in the personal belongings area for safety reasons.
  2. The organizers will not keep valuable items such as money, phones, laptops, etc., and there should be a commitment from the runners that there are no valuable items or prohibited substances in the bag before taking it to the storage area.

EXCEPTIONS

Any individual who does not agree to any of the above terms must submit a request 15 days prior to the event date, clearly state the reason for the request and receive a response on exception from the Organizer.

  • MISCELLANEOUS
  1. The Event Organizer reserves the right to change, supplement, or abolish all or part of the Event Regulations based on the actual situation.
  2. Participants will be bound by regulatory changes or additions prior to the event date.
  3. Failure to comply with the rules of the event, including those changed, will result in the cancellation of results, cancellation of prizes and official results.
